Biography

The small country of Sweden is famous for producing some of the most beautiful and talented women in the entertainment world, such as Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman, among others.

Add to that list blonde and beautiful Gunilla Hutton, who started her career as "Billie Jo" on the popular T.V. series "Petticoat Junction" and for many years was a regular on the "Hee Haw" television series. Although Gunilla acts in many different roles on the show and is frequently featured in a singing solo, she is best known to her fans as "Nurse Goodbody".

Admitting that "Hee Haw" is far from being a sophisticated comedy, Gunilla attributes its success to just that. "It takes audiences back to a time when life was simpler, people were closer, and entertainment consisted of getting together on a neighbor's front porch to amuse and entertain one another."

Gunilla frequently makes singing appearances at major fairs and rodeos around the country. She has recorded for ABC Records and has opened for such acts as Roy Clark, Mel Tillis, and Roger Miller in Las Vegas, Reno, and other major theatres around the country. She has also recorded a duet with Glen Campbell.

In addition, she has recently added to her repertoire her first love, musical theater. She has recently starred as Lola in "Damn Yankees" for the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera and co-starred with Roy Clark as Elizabeth in "Paint Your Wagon" in Houston and Seattle.

"Hee Haw" seems like a long way from Gothenburg, Sweden where Gunilla and her family came from when she was seven years old. But she developed a fondness for country music while growing up in Ft. Worth, Texas. "And I always knew I wanted to be an actress and a performer." While a theatre arts major at UCLA, Gunilla auditioned for and won the part of Billie Jo in "Petticoat Junction". After "Petticoat", she seemed a logical choice to the producers of "Hee Haw" for their show.

Gunilla has also guest-starred on such shows as "Fantasy Island", "Love Boat", and several movies of the week, among others.

Gunilla currently resides in Montecito, California with her 15-year-old daughter, Amber.

Favorite pastimes include long walks, going to the beach and cooking for friends and family. Another hobby is horseback riding. Although admittedly a rank amateur, Gunilla has even played a few chukkers at various pro-celebrity polo events around the country.

Another special interest is physical fitness and nutrition. Gunilla is preparing to release a fitness video in which she shares her workout techniques for staying in shape.
