Linda Henning has been involved in a variety of projects in recent years. She acts in productions of "California Artists Radio Theater" [see * below], has appeared in the Science Fiction program "Sliders", and enjoys doing local theater (musicals and plays). One of her strongest loves, however, is working with animals. Linda frequently works at the Los Angeles Zoo as a docent (click here for more info). This is how she described her work at the zoo to Dave:
It's volunteer, and docents are basically teachers. We're involved with the education department there. We do tours for people who come in. We'll do birthday tours, we'll do tours for school children. I'm co-chair on the weekends of a show called "Animals and You" where we actually use live animals, and we come out and we do a 20-minute show. I also lecture on reptiles and amphibians, and on endangered species. I belong to a group that is called "The Speakers' Bureau", where we go to various businesses, Rotary Clubs, etc. and give talks about animals. I'm also involved with fundraising for the zoo. We have a big fundraising event every year called "The Beastly Ball" and it's a lot of fun. The nice thing about being a docent is that there are so many different things to do you can't possibly do them all. So you can never be bored. There's always something new and different to do.
Linda has been married to Leon Ashby Adams since 1994 and they currently live in Southern California.
